"It was October 2014 and my company was setting up a 2 week, intense induction program for 8 individuals from all over the country. It goes without saying that we spent weeks working on how to set up the best training program we have ever put forth, but our business is hospitality consulting so we knew that the food had better be something you couldn't help savor, talk about, and remember as well. To be clear, many of these people have had private meals prepared by the best chefs in the world because they are friends.
To make it even more intense for me (the one responsible for setting up the entire event), one of the most critical and discerning of the group was a Maryland native and we had a "Maryland seafood" night with the main being Maryland crab cakes. Not only did he speak very highly of her dish that night, all 5 meals she cooked for us were nothing short of amazing.
Since then I have been to one other event she catered for the founder of the company I work for. There were about 10 of us and the only time we were silent all night was when her food was out.
To top it all off, not only does she make some of the best food I have had the pleasure of tasting, she is an absolute delight to have in your kitchen. Lettie is truly a professional, leaving a clean kitchen, full bellies, and a room full of smiles.
While our relationship is purely that of her cooking and me eating, it is hard for me to not feel she is a friend. Leave dinner to Lettie; you will thank her you did."
